For good nutrition, your horse needs roughage (spread out over several times a day) and a constant supply of fresh drinking water. This foundation can be supplemented with a balancer or concentrate feed as needed. And fine-tune your horse’s diet with supplements #feedasyouneed
Feeding recommendations for Cavalor Wholegain:
Feed a maximum of 2lbs of Cavalor® WholeGain daily to your horse in addition to your current feed ration for additional weight. Most horses do well on only 1 to 1.5lb added to their daily ration. For ponies, feed a maximum of 1lb of Cavalor® WholeGain daily. Since this is a very calorically dense feed, Cavalor® WholeGain can replace up to 2lbs of your horse’s normal daily grain ration for every 1lb of Cavalor® WholeGain fed to horses that are currently at a good body condition.
Divide the concentrate feed over several portions per day, preferably after feeding roughage.
Tip: not all feed scoops are the same size. Weigh the contents of your feed scoop so that you know exactly how much your horse is getting.
